RETS and RETS Professional
Standard RETS Features
As a standard service, all MLXchange® and TEMPO™ 5.0 customers automatically have access to the following RETS features:
Easy data set creation
- The RETS Application Manager console provides total control over all RETS data access operations.
- Permit or deny field-level access based on the client application, the user, the user’s class, office, or real estate board.
- Set up different usage scenarios to selectively enforce search restrictions, required search fields, available data fields, and the maximum size of the results set.
- Timesaving Copy function to quickly create new data sets.
Advanced security controls
- Configure user accounts to access the MLS and RETS using a single set of login credentials. Set login limits individually or for both interfaces.
- Enforce client authentication site-wide or per-application.
- Quickly turn access on and off using the RETS Application Manager console.
Powerful administrative functions
- Flexible business logic handles the most complex relationships between vendors, brokers, and the MLS.
- Real-time monitoring and historical reporting on the operation and usage of your RETS service.
- Convenient "application groups" for administering permission changes to multiple RETS applications simultaneously.
- Hierarchical control logic, usage restrictions, security auditing, and performance analysis.
- Login security access to administrative functions lets your MLS staff, MarketLinx, or other authorized delegates manage your RETS service.
RETS Connector™ client application
- Downloadable client application for use by authenticated brokers and third parties (similar to ezRETS™ or Conduit™).
- Perform scheduled or on-demand data downloads.
RETS Professional Features
For an additional fee (based on membership size - maximum $1,500 per month) the following advanced features are available through RETS Professional:
- RETS data analysis: Provides a searchable, user-level analysis of RETS usage, including number of listings and photos downloaded, total bandwidth used, etc.
- IP address filtering: Allows administrators to permit or deny access to the RETS server based on a specific IP address or an IP address range.
- Data and image tagging: Provides a deterrent to unauthorized data distribution and a mechanism for identifying the parties responsible. (Data tagging works by appending visible text to selected text fields, such as "Copyright," "Courtesy of," or the User ID of the downloading user. Image tagging automatically tags a certain percentage of downloaded photos by adding custom information to the image file headers.)
- Data quotas and data throttling: RETS administrators can configure a daily, weekly or monthly quota for each application group; when a quota is exceeded, the application can send e-mail alerts and suspend RETS access.
- Service level agreement: RETS Professional customers benefit from a Service Level Agreement that guarantees the ongoing performance of their RETS service regardless of any future demands placed on it. (Includes the cost to upgrade hardware and software as required.)
